REMSA Health has an exclusive franchise to provide all ground ambulance services within Washoe County with the exception of the areas served by the Gerlach volunteer ambulance service and the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District. This system was designed to assure excellent and consistent patient care and response times, medical quality and stable financial performance.
REMSA Health staffs an internationally accredited clinical communications center, provides community outreach programs and a Center for Integrated Health and Community Education. In addition, Care Flight, a service of REMSA Health provides critical care air ambulance transport services across the western United States. Care Flight is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
REMSA’s paramedics are continuously trained and certified in the most current life-saving techniques such as Advanced Life Support, Trauma Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation. REMSA operates Care Flight, which provides critical care helicopter transport services to northern Nevada and northeastern California. Care Flight is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
