Call 9-1-1

Call 9-1-1 if…

Any time a person believes that urgent medical care is required, especially if the situation is potentially life-threatening, call 9-1-1 immediately! There are many examples of life-threatening emergencies including:

  • Chest Pain
  • Sudden Loss of Consciousness
  • Weakness on One Side
  • Severe Burns
  • Seizure
  • Coughing or Vomiting Blood
  • Severe Allergic Reaction
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Sudden Slurring of Words or Difficulty Speaking
  • Trauma
  • Poisoning
  • Severe Stomach Pain

It is also important to consider if the sick person’s condition could become life-threatening on the way to the hospital, there is a delay in getting to the hospital or if moving the person could cause further injury. If so, the person needs the skills or equipment of paramedics so call 9-1-1 right away.
