REMSA Celebrates Heart Month with an AED Giveaway

February is all about the hearts – it’s American Heart Month – a time for all of us to focus on how we can make our hearts healthier. Things like quitting smoking, choosing foods that are colorful and getting a good night’s sleep are all ways to improve your heart health.

This month, REMSA is also focusing on the importance of knowing hands-only CPR and expanding access to AEDs – two things that make a difference when someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

REMSA’s medically trained dispatchers can give callers instructions on how to perform hands-only CPR and how to use an AED. However, the first step is making sure there’s a network of AEDs available in high-traffic locations across our community.

This month, REMSA is giving away one AED to an organization within Washoe County. You are invited to submit a short video (no longer than 90 seconds) about why your organization would benefit from having an AED on site.

In your video, tell us who you are, what your organization is and how you are affiliated with them. Send your videos to info@remsa-cf.com by 5 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Good luck and Happy Heart Month!
