I'm so very sorry. Reno will never forget. Saying Thousands of prayers for the heroes who have graced paradise with their presence. ??????

While I did not know the crew or the patient onboard the aircraft, I just want to send my condolences. I work at one of the FBO locations at Salt Lake City International Airport and I see Medical Aircraft all the time. I know how hard they work to make sure patients have the best care possible. They are always flying and always in the air helping the patients get where they need to go. Day and Night, middle of the night, they do not stop. Yes, this is a tragic event. My heart aches for all those involved. May those lost find peace and rest. May those involved at CareFlight and Guardian Flight, be able to go forward from this, learn from the incident, and go about doing what you do to keep crew and patients safe and secure to their destinations going forward. May you also have a good support system within your respective companies and within those around you.

I was injured in a ski accident up at Heavenly in a whiteout in January, 1985. Care Flight risked their lives to brave the storm in order to save my life and transport me to Washoe Medical Center. I will forever be in their debt.

We are so sorry for the loss of your loved ones: family, friends, and co-workers. We are praying that God will comfort you and that you will know His peace and presence at this time. We want you all to know that we deeply care about you and plan on laying flowers at the crash site on our property (in the near future, as we live out of state.) Ryan left an indelible mark on the world and will live on in the minds and hearts of those of us who were lucky enough to be influenced and helped by him. His life is an excellent reminder that we always have the opportunity to be kind, caring, and selfless and that we have an impact on more people than we realize. I hope we all strive to have as good of an impact as he did. May his memory be a blessing.

SO SORRY, What an unexpected tragedy we are all faced with , to not only the Pilot, Crew, and the Patients, but the families that were left behind to suffer the losses of their loved ones. May god bring you all healing & strength to grieve and remember. I flew with Scott for several years and you will be missed. God Bless you and all whom were a part of this tragic accident. You will always be remembered and never forgotten. The Pilots Prayer, Dear Lord, please look down on me, if you should get a chance. While Your "eye is on the sparrow" I'd appreciate a glance. In Your tower up in Heaven, as You watch the eagles soar. You know the joy I've felt, as Your wonders I explore. From the early morning sunrise, to the starry moonlit nights, my simple perch near Heaven, has revealed Your glorious sights. But when my flight is over and no longer there's a wait, I pray for a smooth landing, at Heavens Pearly Gate. For beyond the blue horizon, there's a "hanger in the sky", your home for weary pilots, whose spirits never die.

Ryan Watson was literally one of the best people I had the pleasure of meeting. He was always happy, positive, extremely supportive, full of life and optimism. His personality was contagious. He would fill the room with his laughter, his silly jokes and his joy. I have known Ryan since 2011. Throughout our years in high school, college and being coworkers, we shared so many beautiful memories and a great friendship. Ryan always talked about how much he wanted to help people. He was so excited when he started doing that. With Ryan being a paramedic, the community was in good hands. He built such an amazing community around him, full of love and compassion. His loss will leave a huge void, but his legacy will live forever. Ryan was one of the best and compassionate human beings and he will always be remembered that way. May you rest in peace, my friend. You will truly be missed.

How does one even begin to comprehend this enormous loss, so many young children who no longer have their daddy's...wives who lost their soul mates, and grandchildren who no longer have their dear grandparents it is incomprehensible. Sorry just doesn't seem enough this isn't something these families will ever get over. Our community will always remember them, and I only wish the very best to all the families as they navigate their future without their loved ones. Blue Skies forever.

I write the Wings-n-Things column for the Mineral County Independent-News and this is the column I wrote to honor all who serve those in need and in remembrance of Care Flight N273SM. It will be published in the paper March 2, 2023. Until they are needed, not too much thought is usually given to all the people who serve as first responders to accidents or medical emergencies. Normally they are the people who operate on the ground like fire departments, police departments, and medical personnel. In the case of accidents the medical helicopters may be called in for the patients, or ground ambulances. When patients need to be transported to more advanced medical facilities, air ambulance aircraft are called to fly them there. And many can testify how critical those flights have been. In the 15 plus years I have served at the airport as greeter, I have had many contacts with different air ambulance companies and several models of aircraft they have flown. To try to mention them all would be to leave someone out, but one thing that has been a constant, is the absolute dedication to their mission to serve those in need and everyone of them is proud of what they do. This is true of the ground ambulance crews that meet the planes and of the pilot and medical crew on the aircraft. It is a service that has saved many lives and shortened their misery from illness and pain. And it takes a very special person to take on and believe in those missions. Thank you all. Care Flight Pilatus PC-12 N273SM had been to HTH many times. We share the heartbreak and send our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of pilot Scott Walton, flight nurse Ed Pricola, paramedic Ryan Watson, and patient Mark Rand and his wife Terri Rand who perished in a crash on February 24, 2023. It is a tragic time for all air ambulance companies and the world of medevac services flown by both civilian and military crews who dedicate their lives to serve others. Betty Easley

I was working at the fire station on a Thanksgiving day in the mid 90's, when we received word that a Care Flight helicopter had crashed killing all on board. It was a heart-wrenching day for us. The flight crews are like angels bravely descending down from heaven to save lives. God bless them all and may God comfort their families, colleagues and friends.

Thank you for everything you all do. 2017, a Care Flight was taken from Elko up to Reno to save my mom. Although past the point of saving, you worked your hardest. The proper care was administered to the best of their abilities. I can’t imagine the amount of lives that have been changed and saved due to Care Flight. Without your service, thousands of lives would be changed. This loss is felt throughout Reno and further, may the souls of those lost rest in peace.

To my CF fam, my time spent with you will remain one of my greatest memories, I am hurting with all of you and are keeping you all in my prayers. Ryan, man. From day 1 of EMT school, to finishing medic school together, you were the man. Won’t ever forget all of our memories. The last time I saw you, we talked about getting a drink soon so that I could see your kiddo, and talk to Kailey after so many years of not seeing her. You loved your family more than anything in the world, and you were one of the best medics I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I miss you.

I am so sorry for the loss of those great professionals who fly Care Flight and those who were being taken to the Hospital for emergency services. I am so sorry for your loss. I was in an accident many years ago and it was Care Flight and the great professionals who cared for me and helped me arrive safely at the hospital to receive the emergency services I needed. Once again mine and my families heart goes out to all of the families who lost loved ones on this flight and know that we in Nevada love and care about those who fly on Life flight taking sick or injured people to the hospitals they need to go to. Please know that we are deeply saddened by your loss. Thank You, Alan Christensen

Ryan brought the critical care ambulance to our preschool last week and taught the students about all the workings of the rig, the gurney, and how to take their pulse. He was so genuinely kind and caring towards the children and it was no surprise he would be that way with his patient as well. Risking all to potentially help another is a higher calling that is so admirable and praiseworthy. We are grateful we got to meet him and will forever treasure the memories of his visit to our school. Our sympathies and prayers go out to his family and the staff. We are heartbroken with you over this tragic accident. May another brave soul step up to take over his commitment to our city: Ryan, you will be missed by us all- rest in peace sweet friend.

Dear REMSA family: Almost 2 years ago, my 29 year old son was transported via fixed wing from Reno to Salt Lake City for life saving treatment due to covid. He is with us today and is soon to be married! I remember April 9, 2021 every day. As we drove toward Utah in the middle of the night, your staff on the plane kept him alive and brought him to Salt Lake City, where he was transferred to the University of Utah Hospital so that he could receive ECMO, an advanced life support. Because of that, he is with us today. I am heart broken over the loss of life and family sorrow that has occurred with this crash. Please know, 100% know, that the work you do is lifesaving and makes SUCH a difference to us here in Northern Nevada. Thank you for the bottom of my heart and soul, every day, for your work. I wish there was more to say, from a mom’s heart…to all of yours.. thank you and I’m so, so sorry.
