REMSA Health’s Katelyn Roberts Recognized as National Star of Life Honoree

Katelyn Roberts, emergency medical services (EMS) manager for REMSA Health, has been awarded the 2025 Star of Life honor by the American Ambulance Association (AAA). This national recognition celebrates EMS professionals—paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), dispatchers, and support staff—who demonstrate exemplary service, compassion and dedication in their work.

A local ceremony was held to celebrate Roberts and recognize her contributions to EMS and the Washoe County community. Earlier this month, she traveled to Washington D.C. to be honored at AAA’s annual Stars of Life awards program and had the opportunity to meet with members of Congress. She is one of 147 EMS professionals recognized nationwide.

Roberts was nominated for her exceptional leadership and compassionate support for her colleagues and the community. She is a member of REMSA Health’s Peer Support team and focuses on improving the day-to-day lives of EMS professionals. When asked about her proudest accomplishments, Roberts points to simplifying processes so frontline EMS providers can spend time resting, recovering, and preparing to serve their community.

REMSA Health leaders, paramedics and EMTs gathered to honor Roberts and celebrate her as a 2025 Star of Life honoree. Barry Duplantis, president and CEO of REMSA Health, Adam Heinz, COO of REMSA Health and Todd Kerfoot, director of EMS operations, presented Roberts with a Star of Life medallion.

Each year, REMSA Health nominates exceptional team members to be considered for the selection of Stars of Life honorees. This national recognition pays tribute to the dedication of EMS professionals and highlights the critical role they play in healthcare infrastructure.

REMSA Health celebrated Roberts locally to highlight her inspiring leadership and steadfast commitment to advancing the EMS profession in the Washoe County community she serves.
