REMSA Employees Share Thoughts About Receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine

REMSA is distributing its second dose of COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees and as we welcome new hires to the organization, we offer them the vaccine as well. To ensure that every dose is put to good use, REMSA implemented a waiting list of employees’ immediate family members who meet the state guidelines for vaccination in Lane 1 – Frontline and Essential Workforce.

“I definitely got a little emotional as I was receiving the vaccine. It was such a relief and a promise that there are brighter days ahead.” – Monica Teves, EMS Supervisor

“I have a friend in New York City who recently passed away from COVID-19. I would have gotten the vaccine anyway, but now it’s even more important. It’s the right thing to do.” – Mickey Melillo, Medical Dispatcher

“Gloves, respirators and gowns are critically important forms of personal protective equipment for healthcare providers. Masks, social distancing and hand washing are also vitally important ways to protect yourself. But a vaccine is the ultimate in personal protective equipment – for everyone.” Steve Kopp, Health and Safety Supervisor

REMSA encourages you to sign up for emails from Washoe County so that you are updated on the vaccine rollout plan for our region.
