REMSA and Care Flight’s 2019 Year in Review

As we celebrate the new year, we took the opportunity to reflect on 2019 and how we served the community. From our first, first responders in the dispatch center who dispatch and provide protocol-driven medical care over the phone, to the clinical providers on our ground ambulances, from the skilled critical care providers on Care Flight to our talented logistics and mechanics teams, we say thank you for allowing us to take care of the ones you love during some of your most difficult times. REMSA’s mission to provide patient-centered and innovative care drives the clinically-excellent, compassionate service we provide across our region every day.

“As the future of EMS evolves, I am excited about the ways REMSA and Care Flight continue to lead the way in delivering safe, efficient and compassionate integrated healthcare.”
– Dean Dow, President and Chief Executive Officer for REMSA

Here are a few numbers that summarize the past year:

  • REMSA’s ground ambulances responded to 80,351 calls for service – that’s one response every 7 minutes.
  • REMSA’s Emergency Medical Dispatchers provided care over the phone to 71,666.
  • Care Flight transported 1,573 patients via their rotor and fixed-wing program.
  • REMSA trained 16,092 people in CPR – that’s one person every 32 minutes.
  • Through our Point of Impact program, we inspected, adjusted and correctly installed a total of 355 children’s car seats.
