Immunization Clinics

In the fall of 2025, the MIH team, with support from Renown Health and Northern Nevada Public Health, operated six community vaccine clinics focused on improving flu vaccine access among individuals experiencing homelessness.

In total, the MIH team vaccinated 262 people between clinics at the Cares Campus, Our Place Shelter, and RTC bus stations. Of the individuals vaccinated, 63 percent reported currently experiencing homelessness and 58 percent of those vaccinated were not vaccinated against the flu in the year prior. Additional information was gathered during the clinics about barriers to vaccine access among individuals experiencing homelessness. Some results of this data are displayed below.

Fall Prevention

Integrated Health is committed to closing community gaps is care by collaborating with community partners. These collaborations allow REMSA to use its position as the community safety net healthcare provider to engage with vulnerable populations and connect patients to other public health or health promotions programs.

In collaboration with the Sanford Center on Aging, Integrated Health is also looking into ways to connect fall prone EMS patients to evidence-based fall prevention resources through the Sanford Center.
