Point of Impact: Free Car Seat Inspection Hosted By NEIS

REMSA Health’s Point of Impact program encourages parents to ensure their car seats are properly installed. A properly installed car seat can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent. When visiting the checkpoint, parents should bring their child(ren) and car seat(s) and schedule about 30-45 minutes; longer for more than one seat. Staff and volunteers will check for obvious defects and determine whether the car seat appears on a national recall list. In addition, they will check the installation, correct any problems and provide education on the proper use and installation of the car seat.
Families need to provide their Health Plan of Nevada, Medicaid, or WIC card. Foster families need to provide a placement letter. Families can attend the monthly POI event or call 353-0806 to schedule an appointment. A car seat will be provided for those demonstrating a need.
If families need help installing their car seat and can’t make it to the event they can also schedule an appointment Monday – Friday at: remsaeducation.enrollware.com/schedule There is a $25.00 service fee. It’s normally a 30-minute appointment per car seat.
Free group classes on car seat safety, installation, and age-appropriate car seats for children. They can range from 1 to 3 hours long, depending on the group size.
We offer the Family Vehicle Safety Program Court order class (Child Restraints). Call 775-353-0806 to schedule an appointment.
