Membership Plan Specialist

The Business Services Department is hiring a Membership Plan Specialist to support REMSA Health’s membership plans. The schedule is Monday through Friday 8a-5p. Position may require some local travel to attend public events.

Position Summary

This position is accountable for the following functions:

  • To support, market and maintain membership information.
  • Maintain knowledge of the membership program and ability to explain to a diverse public.
  • Guarantees strong customer service by having a positive attitude, answering questions, listening to concerns and speaking positively about the program.
  • Answer telephone calls regarding the various membership packages.
  • Renewal billing for the membership programs.
  • Enter data from membership applications into computer system.
  • Receive and post cash related to membership programs.
  • Run prescribed computer reports regarding membership programs.
  • Filing for all forms, reports, etc. regarding membership programs.
  • Assemble and mail forms, letters, applications, etc. for membership programs.
  • Update administrative personnel on user changes to the membership program software.
  • Keep Management aware of Membership Software and program functionality.
  • Assist internal team members regarding membership inquiries.
  • Participate and support work at public events representing the membership program.
  • Front desk reception coverage as needed and/or other clerical duties may be assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of two (2) years previous clerical and customer service experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of basic math, punctuation, grammar, spelling, and business correspondence.
  • Familiar with medical terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to process transactions using QuickBooks.
  • Ability to type at least 40 WPM.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, adapt to change, and show initiative.
