Logistics Supervisor

The Logistics Supervisor oversees the daily operations of logistics technicians and ensures the efficient deployment of ambulances. This role involves managing resources, coordinating logistics activities, and working closely with the Operations team to provide timely and effective emergency medical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of logistics technicians.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to logistics staff to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and training to staff.
  • Coordinate and oversee the deployment of ambulances to ensure optimal coverage and response times.
  • Monitor real-time deployment and adjust resources as necessary based on demand.
  • Ensure that all ambulances are equipped, maintained, and ready for deployment.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Oversee the distribution of supplies and equipment.
  • Minimizes inventory loss due to damage, theft, or misappropriation.
  • Oversee durable equipment inventory and reports.
  • Annual coordination of preventative maintenance program and reports.
  • Tracking, repair and reporting of damaged equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, protocols, and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, deployment activities, and staff performance.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on logistics operations and performance metrics.
  • Assist in budget preparation and management for logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Act as a point of contact for logistics-related inquiries and issues.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with staff to discuss updates, issues, and improvements.
  • Makes informed decisions using the STAR CARE values-based decision model.

Qualifications/ Experience Requirements

  • Maintain and foster positive working relationships with crews, vendors, co-workers and manager.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starter requiring no oversight.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Windows and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Valid driver license with clean driving record.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Bachelors or Associates degree with emphasis in Business Management and/or Logistics preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, and or warehouse/distribution is preferred.

Supervision Exercised

Exercises direct supervision over the logistics staff.
