Education Program Coordinator I

Position Summary

This position works within the REMSA education department to coordinate EMS education programs including but not limited to EMR, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic. This position is responsible for interacting with students (both internal and external community members) and has contact with the staff of base hospitals, and outlying hospitals; with physicians, public service agencies (fire, police, highway patrol) and ground ambulance personnel; and with various service groups for public relations and educational purposes.

Qualifications/ Experience Requirements

AEMT, Paramedic or EMS-RN with minimum 1 year of EMS experience strongly desired in an ALS system.  Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.  Self-starter requiring little supervision, highly motivated with strong desire to become involved in EMS education. Experienced public speaker & educator preferred.  EMS educational program coordination experience preferred.  Certified Nevada State EMS Instructor required or in process with didactic portion of course completed within 6 months of starting the position. ACLS Instructor, ITLS/PHTLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, or CPR Instructor desirable. Knowledge of Audio/Visual aid development and computers a plus.
